Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl Analysis

The Diary of Anne Frank, written in the style of autobiography, describes the Nazi Invasion period of the Netherlands in the Second World War. But above all, it tells the world of feelings and thoughts of Anne, a daughter who is still in her teens. In addition to being a very impressive and successful, one of the best films ever, Pianist-like book; It is a book in which diaries belonging to 1941 and 1944 years are collected, which contain many emotions such as pain, sadness, love, hope and despair.

Anne was actually writing all the articles just for herself from the very beginning. After the war, she decided to publish a book…

Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl, the first of which was published in 1947, was moved to present day with minor arrangements.

I think everyone should meet Anne Frank one day…

Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl Short Summary

In 1940, war began, then surrender, German domination, and troubles for Jews. Laws for Jewish people started to be implemented, and their freedom was severely restricted. Some of them were as follows: Jews have to carry the Star of David, they should turn their bikes, they can not get on the tram, they can only shop between three and five in the afternoon, they can only go tot the barber, they cannot go out between 8 pm and 6 am, they cannot go to the activities such as theatre or the cinema, they cannot use the sport areas, they can only go to the Jewish schools…There was a lot of bans towards them those days.

There was not much left to do and all they had to do was hide. Because they were taken to concentration camps. Anne, mother, father and older sister, Margot, left their homes with the clothes they wore that day, with things they believed to be the most necessary, packed schoolbags and shopping bags. The place where they were hiding was a building where his father's office was, and the name of this house is now Back House. Their fears always continued. Neighbors should not have seen or heard them. They could never look through the window and go out so they just had to be quiet…

Anne was never able to adapt to her family. It was her father, whom she loved, valued and felt closer to in her life, but always had problems with her mother and older sister. She thought that they did not value her appearance, character, behavior, and felt constantly judged.

After a while, Van Daan family joined them. Wife, husband and their son, Peter, and then began to live as eight people in this Back Home. Even though there were frictions among many subjects such as food and toilet among families, they had to sit at the same table and endure each other. Anne, on the other hand, shared these unbearable moments with her diary Kitty, in fact she shared all her feelings.

Sometimes they fell into great despair with news from outside. Jewish acquaintances were taken to camps, a toilet or sink was given for several thousand people, men and women were put to sleep together, women, children were all cut their hair completely, people were killed in the gas chambers, and no one could not escape this fate…

The things they heard were heavy to Anne, but Anne was getting closer to her own personality. Because she was questioning; good, bad, war, adults, relationships…

It was 1943 and the war continued. Their lives were passed without taking their heads out, reading, learning, listening to the radio and enduring each other, and Anne could never ignore her emotions, especially. She fell in love with Peter Van Daan. Anne managed to conquer Peter's heart, although for a while she fought in her own world among her fears of rejection. After a while, Anne understood that it was a sense of friendship that she could trust and take refuge, not love. Peter seemed to Anne like a weak, fragile, maybe in need of love person...

One evening, they heard from Minister Bolkestein on the radio that after the war, memoirs and letters written for this period will be published. Of course, everyone attacked Anne's notebook, which she told about Back Home. Anne had only one dream and goal: to be a great writer one day!

While the war continued, the people were exhausted. There is no proper food, no doctor, no clothes…What Anne has recently questioned is; why millions are spent every day for wars, but there is not even a cent for health, art, poor people? With all her inquiries and roles, Anne was now physically and spiritually independent.

And eventually, the invasion was made. The British fought the Germans at sea. Russia, France, America…In the morning of 1944, it was estimated that the location of the hiding was reported. The Green Police arrested eight people in the Back Home and their friends who helped them. They had captured all the valuable, worthless items of theirs. They only managed to miss Anne's memoir.

Some of these eight members died from starvation and some from fatigue in transport vehicles. Margot and Anne died from the typhus outbreak in the area where they were expelled between 1944-1945.

There was only one survivor of the concentration camp, Anne's father, Otto Frank, and devoted himself to the memo pad of Anne Frank and the spread of the message in it…
