Everything, Everything Analysis
It was for me that the end of the novel Nicola Yoon Everything is starting. I loved Madeline's unique projects, and I have great respect for all of them. The characters were really unique at first, they all conquered my heart, but it seemed distorted in the middle of the book. Something seemed to be missing. Therefore, after a while, it turned into an event book, not emotions, and this was one of the points that greatly finished the Everything, Everything Book. The fiction was magnificent, pure characters, but they seemed to lose their essence when they got mixed up.
Everything, Everything Short Summary
What differentiates yesterday from today? Calendar pages or our experiences? Or that we never experienced?
Madeline Whittier
Madeline Whittier is a young girl who has never lived. She never set foot in the ground, and never saw sea or ocean; she couldn't watch the stars under the dark of night. Because she is an AKIS patient.
Her biggest phobia was the world. In a real sense. She was allergic to the outside world, and even the air she breathed was transferred to the environment in which she went through some procedures. As soon as she stepped out, she would die, so the only choice left to her was to spend time with her mother and only nurse Carla in her home.
When Madeline was very young, her father and brother died in a traffic accident, and her mother, who became a doctor after that day, was devoting all her life, desires and wishes to her daughter and breathing only for her little baby.
Everything was going the same. The days follow each other, even though the calendar sheets are turned, nothing seems to change. Until Olly.
Along with Olly, the sun had risen into Maddy's room. She had begun to experience thoughts she had never spent in her life. She had learned what “what if” meant.
From a transparent obstacle, watching the world has never been so difficult for her. They started talking to Olly on the phone, by mail, even in her private garden room.
Madeline was changing now. And her mother was well aware of that, but Olly; was the little secret of Carla and Madeline.
Madeline and Olly had promised each other not only would they be friends, but the communication between them was so different that they both knew they were lying to them. Touching each other first and then kissing them put them on an irreversible path.
Madeline, as her mother jumped out of the house to help Olly, her mother learned this truth and caused everything to mix. Because of this little secret, Carla was fired, and Madeline was suspended.
Does causes create reason or vice versa? Another one of the questions that never has the exact answer. Madeline fled without thinking. Yes, she is an AKIS patient and could still breathe when she got out. Despite how much time they had, they took Olly with her and headed to the ocean city.
Madeline had fooled Olly about finding a drug that prevented her from showing the symptoms of her illness. Madeline had just signed the death treaty with Azrael and wanted to get to know the world in the short time left to her.
For two days she never got sick and lived like a normal person and just spent time with her boyfriend. But at the end of a happy day, she had a seizure and her heartbeat stopped. And she died. And she's back.
Madeline was brought back to life again, and her empty now life turned into nothing but this time when she returned home with her mother. Because she left Olly. She had told him to go and so she had finished herself.
Until the doctor at the hospital where she was hospitalized in Hawaii contacted her... According to the doctor's theory, Madeline was not actually an AKIS patient, the reason she had a seizure was an infection. It was impossible for Madeline to be medically AKIS patient and she could not live her life until now.
Madeline had now decided to go after the facts, and for this reason she would not have liked anything she learned. The space left by the lies began to be equivalent to the space when she left Olly behind.
Everything was over, Olly was gone. It was necessary to start somewhere, and the end of the rope started again with Olly.
